NITV Launches NAESP PreschoolFirst Partnership

Reston, VA—January 16, 2007—The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) has formed a partnership with PreschoolFirst.com, an online research-based early childhood program for administrators, teachers, and parents. With the new partnership, NAESP members will be able to subscribe to PreschoolFirst and have access to PreschoolFirst’s comprehensive theme-based preschool curriculum and assessment resource.

NAESP has been a longstanding advocate of quality early childhood education, considering it the foundation for higher levels of student achievement, future success in school, and economic benefits to society.

PreschoolFirst is used by district-funded early learning programs, special needs programs, and independent preschool providers nationwide to improve the cognitive, social, physical, and language development of young children. The program is aligned with state early learning standards, as well as curriculum content and assessment guidelines for the National Association for the Education of Young Children, developmental milestones for the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Head Start Outcomes Framework. PreschoolFirst is an online service of The Network for Instructional TV, Inc. (NITV).

“NITV is delighted to be partnering with NAESP to make PreschoolFirst available to its members,” said Steven J. Gorski, President and CEO of NITV. “As more elementary principals become responsible for pre-K programs, it is critical that they understand and use developmentally appropriate activities and assessment for these younger children. PreschoolFirst is the resource that can help NAESP members build high quality pre-K programs that are the foundation of school readiness.”

“We welcome our new partnership with NITV on providing additional early childhood resources to our members through PreschoolFirst,” said Vincent L. Ferrandino, executive director of NAESP. “Nearly every educational benchmark is related to school readiness, and the more effective resources we can provide to schools, the better prepared our children will be in meeting these benchmarks.”

NITV is a not-for-profit learning technologies corporation and the creator of PreschoolFirst.com, TeachersFirst.com, and TeachersAndFamilies.com. For more information on PreschoolFirst call 866-584-2900 or visit www.PreschoolFirst.com.

Established in 1921, the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) serves approximately 30,000 elementary and middle school principals in the United States, Canada, and overseas. NAESP leads in the advocacy and support for elementary and middle-level principals and other education leaders in their commitment to all children.
