This year’s honorees were recognized at the nineteenth Annual Laureates Medal Ceremony & Gala Awards Evening at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. PreschoolFirst is a comprehensive online assessment and curriculum resource for children from birth to 66 months. It serves preschools, school districts, early childhood centers, and the parents of children attending these facilities. PreschoolFirst was the first completely integrated online service of its kind, and has become a leader in correlating its curriculum and assessment resources to individual state standards. PreschoolFirst serves customers nationwide and in several foreign countries. PreschoolFirst is a service of the Network for Instructional TV, Inc. (NITV), a not-for-profit provider of technology-based educational resources to families and professionals in early childhood and K-12 education. Commenting on the award, Steve Gorski, NITV’s President and CEO, said, “PreschoolFirst is an outstanding example of using the power of technology to enhance learning. It helps us fulfill our mission of bringing effective instructional resources to parents and professionals who might not otherwise have access to them. It is an honor for us to be recognized with this award.” Ron Milton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Computerworld Information Technology Awards Foundation and Executive Vice President of Computerworld, said, “Each year, the Computerworld Honors Program seeks to recognize organizations from a variety of sectors for their ongoing efforts to utilize technology to benefit society.
