About SFL Instructor
Amy has over 20 years of experience working with children and families in different settings including schools, hospitals, community recreation centers, parks, and the court system and holds MS and BS degrees in Child Development form Florida State University. She is currently a professor of Childhood Development at Northern Virginia Community College and a consultant for the Infant Toddler Specialist Network and Child Care Aware of Virginia, where she provides technical assistance and workshops to early childhood educators. In addition, she heads educational programs at Colvin Run Mill Historic Site and is a member of the Early Childhood Education Peer Group for the Virginia Community College System.
