Scholarship Resources

For your convenience, here are a few financial resources to explore to possibly offset some or all of the tuition costs associated with the required courses in the VA-ECAP Credentialing Program.

1. Clarene Vickery Scholarship Funds

The Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (VAAEYC) has announced a leadership scholarship opportunity in memory of an early childhood educator and advocate, Clarene Vickery. VAAEYC will make mini-grants of up to $250 to early childhood educators pursuing leadership roles and opportunities. For more details, click on this link.

2. Professional Development & Quality Incentive (PDQI)

VAAEYC offers an incentive to its members for their professional development. Members may apply for funds to assist with college level courses, CDA work, training opportunities through VAAEYC partners (such as VA-ECAP Credential), and more.

3. Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children (NVAEYC) CDA Assessment/Credential Scholarship

NVAEYC's Credential Scholarship offers support to NAEYC members who are completing the coursework of an early childhood credential that will enhance their ability to create positive influences on the quality of services rendered to young children and their families. Please note, the recipients of this scholarship must be a legal resident of, or work in, the City of Alexandria, City of Falls Church, City of Fairfax, or Arlington County, Fairfax County, or Loudoun County.

4. Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program (VCCPSP)

The Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program (VCCPSP) offers funding for current and future childcare providers. Funds are administered by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). Limited funds are available to attend undergraduate, for credit courses at Virginia's accredited colleges through this scholarship program.
The Scholarship Program will pay for either 8 undergraduate college courses or a maximum lifetime award amount of $3,570, whichever occurs first.

5. Project Pathfinders 
Project Pathfinders is a scholarship program created to help Virginia Early Childhood Professionals increase skills by accessing community college coursework and credentials. Project Pathfinders is offered in partnership by Virginia Early Childhood Foundation (VECF) and the Virginia Community College System.
