What is the VA-ECAP?
Virginia Early Childhood Administrator Professional Credential (VA-ECAP) is an online credentialing program –a joint offering between Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) and The Source for Learning, Inc. (SFL).

  • Earn credit hours for NOVA Child Development courses and NOVA CEUs for non-credit SFL Leadership & Management courses.

Two Tiers - One Credential!

The VA-ECAP is uniquely designed to support professionals at varying stages in their education process.  Whether you hold a CDA, an AA or a higher degree you are eligible to enroll in the VA-ECAP.  Additionally, enrollment in the VA-ECAP can simultaneously streamline and advance formal learning goals helping to minimize program costs – not Quality!

Tier I – CDA Recipients: Completing the VA-ECAP courses qualify for a credential and may count towards an AA degree.

Tier II – Already hold an AA degree in ECE/CD or higher?  Earn your certification and continue on your pathway to a BA degree.
